Hello,

a bit about me:

Welcome! I am an Associate Professor of Political Science at The University of Utah. I study conflict resolution, international security, political psychology, nationalism, identity politics, Korean politics, and East Asian international relations.

My book (2022, University of Michigan Press) is a Winner of the 2022 American Library Association (ALA) Choice Outstanding Academic Title. The book is based on my three-time award-winning dissertation (awarded the American Political Science Association (APSA) Best Dissertation in Experimental Research, the APSA Best Dissertation in Political Psychology, and the International Society of Political Psychology (ISPP) Best Dissertation Award Honorable Mention). My work has appeared in Political Research Quarterly, Journal of Experimental Political Science, Journal of Peace Research, Foreign Policy Analysis, PLoS ONE, and World Development, among other journals.

I was selected as the 2022 Sherman Emerging Scholar by The Korea Society. My research has also received generous support from the Korea Foundation, the Japan Foundation, the European Union Chamber of Commerce in Korea, the East-West CenterWaseda University in Japan, the Critical Difference for Women Program at the Coca-Cola Foundation, the Mershon Center for Security Studies, the Decision-Sciences Collaborative, Global Gateway Research Abroad Grant at the Ohio State University, and the following institutions at the University of Utah: the Asia Center, the Global Change & Sustainability Center, the Betty Glad Memorial Fund, the University Research Committee, and the College of Social and Behavioral Science, among others.
